Universitas Pertamina Promotes Renewable Energy Transition Through Public Engagement

Universitas Pertamina promotes renewable energy transition beyond the university through public discussions and multi-stakeholder engagement, encouraging wider participation in sustainable energy development. In 2025, these efforts included a cross-institutional energy transition forum and the inauguration of the Sustainability Center Universitas Pertamina (SUPER).
On 17 October 2025, the Society of Renewable Energy (SRE) at Universitas Pertamina organised a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on geopolitics and energy transition, involving 50 participants from different organisations and universities. The discussion addressed Indonesia’s national energy policies, international climate commitments, and challenges in transitioning from fossil-fuel dependence toward cleaner energy systems. The forum encouraged participants to examine the importance of maintaining energy transition commitments and strengthening collaboration, research, and innovation to support sustainable energy development.
Universitas Pertamina further strengthened external stakeholder engagement through the inauguration of its Sustainability Center (SUPER) on 11 August 2025, held alongside the launch of Pertamina’s Net Zero Emissions (NZE) Roadmap. The event brought together government and industry representatives, including the Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas and senior representatives of PT Pertamina (Persero). Through SUPER, Universitas Pertamina supports collaboration in sustainability research, clean-energy innovation, and green talent development to contribute to Indonesia’s energy transition and Net Zero Emissions 2060 agenda.
