Universitas Pertamina implements interventions to prevent and alleviate hunger among students through free meal distribution and initiatives that improve access to affordable food to prevent student hunger. One of these initiatives is subsidies pricing independently introduced by selected campus canteen tenants. For example, Haoz-Haoz offers selected food and beverage items to Universitas Pertamina students at prices approximately IDR 2,000–3,000 lower than those charged to external visitors. These preferential prices help students, particularly those with limited daily allowances, reduce their food expenses during academic activities.
| Menu Item | External Visitors | Students |
| Iced Green Tea | IDR 7,000 | IDR 5,000 |
| Milk Tea | IDR 8,000 | IDR 6,000 |
| Indonesian Chewy Tapioca Balls | IDR 12,000 | IDR 10,000 |
Universitas Pertamina also implements direct food assistance through Berbagi Berkah (BB) Programme, coordinated by MIRAI Universitas Pertamina, the university’s Islamic Spirituality Student Activity Unit. Through Jumat Berkah (Blessed Friday), the programme distributes free meals to students during active academic periods, particularly supporting students experiencing financial difficulties regardless of their religious backgrounds. In 2025, the programme distributed 450 free meal portions, giving students experiencing financial constraints direct access to ready-to-eat meals at no cost.

In addition to the Berbagi Berkah Programme, Universitas Pertamina distributes free meals through university events and educational activities. Throughout 2025, approximately 2,500 free meal portions were distributed to participants, including students, during university anniversary celebrations (Dies Natalis), Indonesia’s Independence Day celebrations, communal Ramadan Iftar, and various free seminars, workshops, and capacity-building activities. Students participating in these activities can obtain meals without additional expenses while engaging in academic and professional development opportunities.

To support everyday food affordability, Universitas Pertamina operates two campus canteens offering a variety of meals at approximately IDR 10,000–20,000. Available food options include dishes containing vegetables, meat, and other protein sources, allowing students to select meals according to their dietary preferences and daily budgets. These affordable meal options help students meet their daily food needs without placing excessive pressure on their food budgets.
