Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Goal 3 focuses on healthy lives and promotes well-being for all at all ages.
– United Nations
Universitas Pertamina’s dedication to achieving this goal is demonstrated through its Community Services and various initiatives conducted throughout the 2022-2023 academic year. These efforts include health education campaigns, partnerships with healthcare providers, and direct interventions focused on improving community well-being.
Universitas Pertamina is dedicated to improving health and well-being outcomes by actively collaborating with local, national, and global health institutions. These partnerships are designed to enhance health standards and well-being for both the university community and the surrounding areas. Key initiatives undertaken during the 2022/2023 academic year include:
Universitas Pertamina’s Student Activity Unit (UKM KSR) collaborates with Lions Club Jakarta Selatan and the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) to organize regular blood donation events. These initiatives are critical in supporting blood supply for those in need while raising awareness about the importance of voluntary donations. During the 2022/2023 period, three donation events were successfully held on September 15, 2022; February 27, 2023, and May 29, 2023.
Universitas Pertamina has collaborated with Rumah Sakit Pertamina Jaya (RSPJ) to establish an on-campus clinic, providing healthcare services for students, faculty, and staff. RSPJ will manage the clinic’s operations to ensure access to high-quality health services within the university environment. This partnership reflects the university’s commitment to making healthcare accessible and convenient for the community.
Additionally, Universitas Pertamina, in collaboration with BPJS Kesehatan, organized an information session to raise awareness about the national health insurance system for its employees. This initiative aims to improve understanding of health benefits and facilitate access to essential healthcare services through BPJS Kesehatan. The program, held in partnership with BPJS Jakarta Selatan, aligns with the university’s efforts to ensure the well-being of its workforce.
Universitas Pertamina has shown a strong commitment to health and well-being through various outreach programs and projects that involve students from diverse fields of study. These initiatives aim to enhance community health outcomes by promoting important topics such as hygiene, nutrition, family planning, sports, exercise, and healthy aging. Furthermore, the programs also extend support to displaced or refugee communities in the surrounding area. Through these efforts, students gain valuable experience while actively contributing to social awareness and the improvement of community health.
One of the key initiatives is the LIGHT UP 2022: Medical Garden program, where students volunteered at an orphanage. This program focused on socializing and planting medicinal plants. By following the Instagram account @mizan_medicalgarden, you can see the interactions between students and the orphanage children, where they share insights about the benefits of medicinal plants and collaboratively plant various health-benefiting plants. This not only heightens awareness about medicinal plants but also introduces the concept of a medicinal garden for future use by the orphanage.
The ABDI HMTL program also highlights a concern for environmental health, specifically in orphanages. The Environmental Engineering Student Association (HMTL) at Universitas Pertamina organized waste management activities aimed at enhancing cleanliness and environmental health in these facilities. This initiative brought both benefits and happiness to the children at the orphanage. Students educated them on waste sorting and management while involving them in hands-on practices, fostering a healthier and cleaner environment.
Additionally, students from the Communication Study Program initiated a campaign aimed at high school students to promote the importance of hydration. Titled “Healthy Living Movement: Let’s Drink 2 Liters of Water per Day,” this campaign targeted teenagers who often overlook adequate water intake. Through this initiative, communication students not only honed their communication skills but also played a vital role in raising health awareness among their peers.
Universitas Pertamina is dedicated to promoting student well-being and safety through targeted initiatives that address critical issues such as bullying, sexual harassment, and access to sexual and reproductive health services. A prime example of this commitment is the UPVISOR program, led by the Directorate of Student Affairs, which actively engages students in discussions on essential social and health-related topics. One notable session, Webinar UPVISOR #7: STOP BULLYING & SEXUAL HARASSMENT (Recognize, Prevent, Be Aware), emphasized the importance of understanding, preventing, and being vigilant about bullying and harassment. This reinforces the university’s dedication to fostering a safe and respectful campus environment.
UPVISOR offers students access to information and education services related to sexual and reproductive health. This support empowers students to make informed and healthy choices about their well-being while emphasizing the significance of respect, consent, and mutual understanding. Through UPVISOR, Universitas Pertamina not only fosters a culture of safety and respect but also actively supports students’ mental and physical health, academic success, and overall well-being.

Certain areas are designated as non-smoking zones (Figure1), while specific areas are allocated as smoking areas (Figure 2).
