The 2nd ICONIC-RS 2023, held on September 21-22, 2023, in Bali, Indonesia, focused on the theme “Increasing Resilience and Managing Risk in Global Disruptions.” This international conference addressed the critical need to manage risks affecting personal and professional spheres, particularly in a world still grappling with post-COVID-19 disruptions across health, markets, and other sectors. Drawing inspiration from global initiatives like the G20, the event explored key topics such as energy and risk assessment, ESG considerations, good corporate governance, economic challenges, geopolitical risks, cybersecurity, and operational risks in finance, human capital, and marketing. Conducted in a hybrid format, it provided global access while promoting resilience and effective risk management strategies.

The 1st International Conference on Contemporary Risk Studies (ICONIC-RS) 2022, held on March 31 – April 1, 2022, focused on the theme “Challenges and Opportunities During the COVID-19 Pandemic” The event aimed to disseminate research on risk management across areas such as renewable energy, geopolitics, geotechnics, and business, while fostering collaboration among scientists, engineers, academics, and industry stakeholders. It also provided a platform to exchange ideas on education, research, and business, with a focus on accelerating progress in risk management in Indonesia.
Key topics included energy and risk assessment, ESG, good corporate governance, geopolitical and economic risks, cybersecurity, and operational risks in technology and engineering. Featuring a prominent keynote by Dr. (H.C) Ir. Airlangga Hartanto, M.B.A., M.MT, as an Indonesian Minister of Economy, and Dr. H. Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, BBA, MBA as an Indonesian Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, the conference successfully brought together participants globally in hybrid format to address pressing challenges and opportunities in risk management during the pandemic.
