Universitas Pertamina Provides Access to Sexual and Reproductive Health Care Support Services for Students

Universitas Pertamina (UPER) provides students with access to a range of support mechanisms that contribute to sexual and reproductive health-care support, including information, counselling, psychological support, health services, and protection from sexual violence. These services are provided through the University’s student counselling system, campus health clinic, and the Task Force for the Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence (Satuan Tugas Pencegahan dan Penanganan Kekerasan Seksual/PPKPT). Each service has a different function and provides a complementary form of support for students.

Student Counselling Service

Universitas Pertamina provides students with free access to sexual and reproductive health information and counselling through its Student Counselling Service. Students can select “Sexual and Reproductive Health” as a counselling topic in the Student Helpdesk, submit a consultation request, and arrange a counselling session through the university’s scheduling system.
Students access the service through their individual SSO account and select the Helpdesk menu. They can then select the relevant topic, including Sexual and Reproductive Health, choose a preferred counselling schedule, and receive confirmation from the counselling team. Students can subsequently attend the counselling session according to the confirmed schedule. In addition to the Helpdesk system, students can contact the counselling service online through the Universitas Pertamina designated counselling contact.
Through this mechanism, Universitas Pertamina provides students with accessible information, counselling and support related to sexual and reproductive health. The service provides students with a confidential space to discuss personal concerns and seek appropriate guidance and support.

Task Force for the Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence (PPKPT)

In 2025, Universitas Pertamina strengthened its institutional mechanism for protecting students through the establishment and inauguration of the Task Force for the Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence (Satuan Tugas Pencegahan dan Penanganan Kekerasan Seksual/PPKPT). The task force was officially inaugurated on 22 January 2025 based on Rector’s Decree No. 19/UPER-R/SK/HK.01/I/2025. The task force includes representatives from lecturers, educational staff, and students, ensuring student representation within the University’s mechanism for preventing and addressing sexual violence.
The PPKPT provides an institutional mechanism for preventing and handling sexual violence, including awareness-building and a reporting channel for members of the university community. Students can submit reports or seek assistance through the designated reporting mechanism without charge.
The PPKPT is therefore presented as a protection and prevention mechanism related to sexual violence, rather than as a medical sexual and reproductive health service. Its role complements the University’s counselling support by providing students with a formal channel for reporting and seeking assistance in cases involving sexual violence.

Campus Health Clinic

UPER also provides access to a campus health clinic for students and members of the university community. The clinic operates during campus operating hours and provides access to general health services within the university environment.
The clinic contributes to students’ overall access to health-care services and complements the University’s counselling and student-support mechanisms. However, the available evidence for this indicator does not specifically establish that the clinic provides dedicated sexual and reproductive health-care services, such as reproductive health examinations, contraception services, or specialised reproductive health consultations. Therefore, the clinic is presented as a supporting general health service, rather than as direct evidence of specialised sexual and reproductive health care.
