Universitas Pertamina provides educational outreach programmes for local communities to learn about the importance of energy efficiency and clean energy through practical training, renewable energy demonstrations, and community partnerships. In 2025, these initiatives included the PagiFarm Solar Energy Programme and a collaborative renewable energy outreach programme in Barengkok Village, Bogor Regency. Through the PagiFarm Solar Energy Programme, Universitas Pertamina introduced a 1,000 Wp solar photovoltaic (PV) system to support hydroponic farming operations. The programme provided local partners with hands-on training in solar PV operation, maintenance, and energy-consumption monitoring, supported by operational guidelines and an IoT-based monitoring dashboard. Programme evaluations reported a reduction in grid electricity consumption of up to 70%, demonstrating the practical benefits of adopting clean energy and improving energy management.
In August 2025, Universitas Pertamina collaborated with Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jakarta (UPNVJ) to deliver renewable energy education and technical training in Barengkok Village. Lecturers from Universitas Pertamina’s Civil Engineering Programme and LIGHT UP students participated in a community programme involving six solar-powered streetlights and two IoT-based water-level controllers. The programme included renewable energy awareness sessions and hands-on training for local residents, particularly Karang Taruna BAMA, on operating and maintaining the technologies. These activities strengthened community understanding of clean energy applications and the skills needed to manage sustainable village infrastructure.
