Universitas Pertamina (UPER) maintains current collaborations with health institutions to support health and well-being through institutional cooperation, community-based health activities, and student engagement. The collaborations cover different levels of engagement, including cooperation with a national health institution, PT Pertamina Bina Medika IHC, and a local health institution, Palang Merah Indonesia (PMI) DKI Jakarta. These collaborations support UPER’s contribution to health through education, research, community engagement, and health-related activities .
Current Collaboration with PT Pertamina Bina Medika IHC – National Health Institution
Universitas Pertamina has established a formal collaboration with PT Pertamina Bina Medika IHC (Indonesia Healthcare Corporation) through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the Implementation of the Three Pillars of Higher Education (Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi). The MoU provides an institutional framework for cooperation in education, research, and community service between Universitas Pertamina and PT Pertamina Bina Medika IHC and remains valid until 2029. PT Pertamina Bina Medika IHC is a health-services company within the Pertamina Group and operates a healthcare network consisting of hospitals and clinics across Indonesia. Its 2024 Annual Report identifies its business field as health services and reports a network of 37 hospitals and 73 clinics. Rumah Sakit IHC | Jaringan Layanan Kesehatan Terintegrasi di Indonesia Based on its national healthcare network, the collaboration is classified as a national-level collaboration with a health institution.
Through the MoU, Universitas Pertamina and IHC have a formal framework to collaborate in areas related to the Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi, including education, research, and community service. This provides a basis for knowledge exchange, capacity development, research collaboration, and community-oriented activities between a higher education institution and a professional healthcare institution. Importantly, the MoU is presented here as the evidence of the institutional health collaboration itself. Specific health activities are not attributed to the MoU unless they are supported by separate implementation evidence. This distinction ensures that the evidence does not overstate the relationship between the institutional agreement and individual health activities.
Current Collaboration between UKM KSR Universitas Pertamina and PMI DKI Jakarta – Local Health Collaboration
Separately from the institutional MoU with IHC, Universitas Pertamina also supports health-related community activities through its student organization, Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa Korps Sukarela (UKM KSR) Universitas Pertamina, in collaboration with Palang Merah Indonesia (PMI) DKI Jakarta. PMI DKI Jakarta represents a local-level health and humanitarian institution operating within the DKI Jakarta area. PMI’s official service information identifies PMI DKI Jakarta as the provincial PMI unit serving the Jakarta area. One example of this collaboration was the blood donation and free health examination activity held on 14 April 2025 at Universitas Pertamina. The activity provided participants with access to blood donation, blood glucose testing, and free health examinations. Through these services, participants could obtain basic health information while contributing to the availability of blood supplies managed through PMI’s blood service system. PMI describes its blood donation service as part of its humanitarian and transfusion blood-service function in Indonesia. The involvement of UKM KSR Universitas Pertamina in this activity demonstrates student participation in community-oriented health initiatives, while the involvement of PMI DKI Jakarta provides the professional institutional partnership supporting the blood donation activity. The activity therefore represents a local collaboration with a health institution that directly provides health-related services and promotes community participation in supporting public health.
