Indonesia has been actively working towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) since their adoption by the United Nations in 2015. The country has integrated the SDGs into its national development agenda, focusing on areas such as poverty alleviation, quality education, healthcare, and environmental protection. Indonesia’s approach includes collaboration with various stakeholders, including government agencies, private sectors, civil society, and international partners, to ensure a comprehensive and inclusive implementation of the SDGs across the nation.
Despite significant progress, Indonesia still faces challenges in meeting some of the SDGs, particularly those related to reducing inequality and ensuring sustainable cities and communities. Rapid urbanization, environmental degradation, and disparities in access to education and healthcare are among the key issues. However, the Indonesian government remains committed to addressing these challenges by enhancing policy frameworks, increasing investments in sustainable infrastructure, and promoting community-based initiatives to foster inclusive and sustainable development.
