Universitas Pertamina has established an institutional framework to support climate action through Rector Regulation No. 0019A/UPER-R/PER/HK.00/X/2024 on Guidelines for Green Campus Management. The regulation covers climate change mitigation and adaptation, energy efficiency, sustainable infrastructure, water and waste management, sustainable transportation, and environmental education, providing an institutional basis for integrating environmental and climate-related considerations into university operations. Universitas Pertamina also engages in external initiatives related to climate action. These engagements include knowledge exchange on climate change mitigation and adaptation and the contribution of academic expertise to government initiatives related to low-carbon technology development.
External Engagement on Climate Action
On 3 June 2025, Universitas Pertamina, together with Pertamina Foundation, organised RESILIENCE 2025: The 3rd International Conference on Nature-Based Solutions in Climate Change in Jakarta. The conference provided a forum for knowledge exchange on climate change mitigation and adaptation, nature-based solutions, ecosystem restoration, and community resilience, involving researchers, academics, and practitioners from various countries. Universitas Pertamina’s climate-related external engagement is also demonstrated through academic expertise contributed to government initiatives on carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCS/CCUS). Based on Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Regulation No. 2 of 2025, a Universitas Pertamina academic is listed as a member of a CoE CCS/CCUS group/committee, demonstrating the university’s contribution to government efforts related to emissions mitigation and low-carbon technology development.
