Universitas Pertamina Systematically Measures and Tracks Women’s Application and Acceptance Rates in Higher Education

Universitas Pertamina systematically measures and tracks women’s application and acceptance rates through a gender-disaggregated admissions monitoring dashboard managed by the Recruitment and New Student Admission Function (RPMB). This practice aligns with Universitas Pertamina’s institutional commitment outlined in Circular Letter No. 0043A/UP-WRS.3.2/MEMO/KP.06/II/2025 on an Inclusive Campus, Equality, and Anti-Discrimination. Specifically, Points 2 and 3 (page 1) guarantee equal opportunities for women to apply, undergo selection, and gain admission, while Point 17 (page 3) requires university units to integrate gender equality principles into their programmes and services.
The RPMB dashboard systematically records women’s applications and acceptance outcomes using gender-disaggregated data collected from applicants’ biographical information during registration. Within the dashboard, Applicants represent individuals who have submitted applications, while Prospective New Students (CAMABA) represent applicants who have successfully passed the selection process and been accepted by Universitas Pertamina. These categories enable RPMB to monitor women’s participation at both the application and acceptance stages.
According to the 2024/2025 academic year dashboard, Universitas Pertamina recorded 18,903 applications, comprising 9,508 from women (50.30%) and 9,395 from men (49.70%). At the acceptance stage, 1,398 applicants were accepted, including 468 women (33.48%) and 930 men (66.52%). Based on the proportion of accepted applicants relative to total applications by gender, the female acceptance rate was 4.92%, compared with 9.90% for male applicants.
