Universitas Pertamina (UPER) provides students with access to mental health support through professional psychological consultation, free student counselling services, and mental health awareness activities. These mechanisms provide students with access to professional assistance, counselling, information, and mental health promotion during their academic life.
Professional Psychological Consultation Services
Universitas Pertamina provides access to professional psychological consultation for students through its collaboration with PT Aditi Uniti Veritas, a company providing psychological and human resource development services in Indonesia.
Through this collaboration, students can access professional psychological support when they require assistance related to psychological conditions and mental well-being. The service complements Universitas Pertamina internal student counselling system by providing access to professional psychological expertise. The professional consultation service is intended to provide students with appropriate psychological support beyond routine academic assistance. Students who require professional support can be directed to the available service through the Universitas Pertamina designated student-support mechanism. Access mechanism: Students can obtain information regarding the consultation service through the Universitas Pertamina student-support/counselling channels, including information on the applicable registration or referral procedure.
Free Student Counselling Service
In addition to professional psychological consultation, Universitas Pertamina provides a free student counselling service that is available to all students. Students can access the service through their university SSO account by selecting the Helpdesk menu. Through this system, students can submit a counselling request, select the relevant topic or concern, and choose an available counselling schedule. The counselling team subsequently confirms the appointment. The service provides students with a structured channel to obtain mental health support without charge. The available counselling topics include academic concerns, social and relationship issues, family concerns, motivation and self-confidence, as well as other personal concerns experienced by students. The service therefore provides both a preventive and responsive form of mental health support, allowing students to seek assistance when they experience psychological, emotional, social, or academic challenges at Universitas Pertamina.
Mental Health Awareness and Anti-Bullying Campaigns
Universitas Pertamina also promotes mental health through awareness activities and educational content. These activities complement individual counselling by encouraging students to recognise mental health challenges, maintain healthy study-life balance, and seek support when needed. One documented example is the Universitas Pertamina publication “Menjaga Kesehatan Mental Mahasiswa dengan Study-Life Balance,” published on 23 April 2025 through the University’s official website. The publication specifically addresses mental health challenges that students may experience due to academic workload, reduced sleep, multiple commitments, and other pressures. It provides practical guidance on time management, prioritising activities, maintaining healthy lifestyles and sleep, building positive social relationships, and making time for personal activities.
The publication also encourages students to seek support when needed and directly connects study-life balance with student mental health and well-being. It therefore functions as a mental health awareness and preventive education activity, rather than merely general university communication. The target audience is Universitas Pertamina students, and the material was publicly disseminated through the University’s official website in 2025. In addition to study-life balance education, Universitas Pertamina student counselling service also promoted awareness of mental health support and anti-bullying during 2025. The campaign aimed to increase students’ awareness of the potential impact of bullying on mental health and the importance of maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive campus environment.
